16MnCr5 Alloy steel

16MnCr5 Alloy steel

16MnCr5 is an alloyed case hardening steel used for  mechanical engineering components. The steel can be M-treated in order to optimize the machinability.16MnCr5 steel is equivalent to 16CrMnH steel, which has better hardenability and machinability. For larger cross-section parts, higher surface hardness and wear resistance can be obtained after heat treatment, and the low-temperature impact toughness is also higher. 16MnCr5 gear steel is used after carburizing and quenching. It is mainly used to manufacture gears, worms, seal sleeves and other parts. It is a MnCr alloy steel, easily hot machinable and weldable. It has a low hardenability and therefore it can show good core features till thicknesses of about 20 mm.

12CrNi3 alloy steel

12CrNi3 alloy steel

12CrNi3 steel belongs to alloy carburizing steel and has higher hardenability than 12CrNi2A steel.

Therefore, it can be used to manufacture parts with a slightly larger section than 12CrNi2A steel.

Type: military special steel Properties: It is a high-grade carburizing steel with a wide range of uses The steel has good comprehensive mechanical properties after quenching low temperature tempering or high temperature tempering.

The steel has good low temperature toughness, low notch sensitivity and good cutting performance. When the hardness is HB260-320, the relative machinability is 60% ~70 In addition, the steel has low hardness and good plasticity after annealing.

Therefore, the mold can be manufactured by cutting processing method or cold extrusion molding method.

In order to improve the wear resistance of the mold cavity, the mold needs to be carburized after molding, and then quenched and tempered at low temperature, so as to ensure that the mold surface has high hardness and high wear resistance and the core has good toughness. Steel is suitable for manufacturing large and medium-sized plastic molds. However, the steel has a tendency to temper brittleness and the tendency to form white spots.
